One Year Adjusted

*Written around January 17th, 2014*

When I was searching micropreemie blogs, I was always sad when they just stopped.  I wanted to know the long-term effects of each baby.  And so I don't plan to update this blog often, but I will come back every once in awhile to tell you how Dylan's doing.

It's been really awkward for the past 15 1/2 months trying to decide how to tell people Dylan's age.   But his due-date was January 17th, so by all means of counting, he's officially a year old.

In a nut-shell, Dylan is a super-happy, smiley, nearly-walking, cottage cheese loving little boy.  He shares with his BFF, the "da" (also his first and only meaningful word).  We are incredibly lucky with Dylan's health, but I'll get into the specifics for you.

Basic stats:
Weight - 17 1/2 pounds (still below growth chart, but progressing)
Height - 29 inches (on chart)
Head - ? but also on chart

Feeding:
Dylan's reflux is our main health issue and it still affects feeding.  We have a hard time getting him to eat more than 2 ounces per solid meal, but sometimes he'll eat 4 ounces and we think it'll all be okay.  He eats a variety of foods and doesn't completely refuse many, but he just eats such a small volume of each one.  We switched from 24cal formula to 30cal Pediasure, but it seems to be causing Dylan to throw up more, so we will be switching to Whole Cow's Milk and add Whole Milk Powder to increase the cals.

Sleeping:
D is an awesome sleeper!  He rarely wakes during the night.  Thanks dude!

Lungs:
D got Synagis last flu season, but didn't qualify this year because he turned one 3 weeks too early.  This scared me, but things are fine so far.  He is not on any type of breathing treatment and his lungs sound clear.
