Yes, really...I can't believe it either!
On Monday morning I asked to see the doctor to see how she felt about Dylan's feeds in the last 24 hours.
She walked in and said "so you're going home Wednesday." I said, "really?" It was a total shock.
Then I cried. And I don't cry happy tears.
For the rest of the day I really thought they were going to come in and say "just kidding." But they didn't!
He kept eating and got his hearing test, circumcision and 2 months vaccinations (poor guy!).
And on Wednesday morning at about 11:00 am, we walked out the door of the NICU, only to return again to visit.
We would love to have everyone meet him, but we aren't going to be able to do so right away.
First, Mike, Dylan and I are going to just be a normal family for a week, then family can come see him, but we are going to limit his outings and guests until the end of flu season. We are NOT going to take any risks that could send him back to the hospital!
We are way beyond thrilled. We've been home a little over 24 hours and every is doing great. Dylan slept well in his Rock n Play last night. He ate at 10, 2, and 6...not too bad for mom and dad! Stella is feeling a little neglected, but she seems curious about Dylan.
Dylan has eaten and pooped and slept a good amount and only cried a very small amount, so things are good.
I'll post some pics soon.
WOO HOO! I'm so glad that you NICU stay is finally over. Enjoy your family time.
